NBR™ Rivet studs for thin sheet applications
Studs
Application area
- Can be used for component thicknesses from 0.8 to 2.5 mm and tensile strengths of up to 1500 MPa
- Suitable for a wide range of high dynamic, static and impact load conditions
- Suitable for use where threaded fittings need to be resistant to high axial forces
- Can be used for aluminum or other materials, including press hardened steel
- Suitable for use with surface-treated, galvanized or painted components
Technical Characteristics
- Thread sizes: M6 to M8
- P.C. 8.8 (standard)
- Resistance to corrosion in accordance with the customer’s requirements
- Requires a pre-pierced hole in the application
- No adverse effects on the joint or function of the thread; no damage due to weld spatters
- High resistance to twist and ejection forces
- Stud positioning tolerance ranges can be halved as compared to welding methods
- Water-tight and gas-tight in reference to the requirements demanded by the automotive sector and dependent on the quality of the component material
- Straightforward, in-process and non-destructive quality testing possible by worker instead of elaborate destructive tests
